A strange and sad hit-and-run case happened in Montebello this morning, according to ABC 7. The California Highway Patrol stated that the crash happened around 2 a.m. in the vicinity of Markland Avenue on the westbound 60 Freeway.
Authorities believe that the driver of the car stopped her vehicle and may have tried walking across the lanes. She was struck and killed by another car, who did not stay at the scene as required by law. Police also believe that there were three other people in the slain woman’s car. None of them stayed behind at the scene either. They ran away on foot.
When police searched the victim’s vehicle, they found no sign of drugs or alcohol. Police are seeking out the car that killed the victim, as well as the people she was with that night.

There is nearly no excuse worthy enough to leave an accident scene without giving a report to the police. All it does is add criminal charges against you and makes you a target for a civil suit. What’s sad is that even the people she was with didn’t stay around. They have a responsibility to share her story with the police, starting with why she stopped the car and tried going across the lanes in the first place.
