Three preschoolers got the scare of their lives last Monday when an SUV crashed into the preschool building at about 5 p.m., according to this report from CBS Los Angeles. This incident occurred in Saugus, California. No one was severely injured, although three children were airlifted to the hospital as a precaution, and one additional person, presumedly the driver of the SUV, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
La Petite Academy of Saugus offers infant care, preschool, school-age programs, and more. They strive to provide a comfortable, safe, and healthy environment where the kiddos can learn and grow.
According to eyewitnesses, the SUV had been parked outside one of the buildings of the preschool. The driver thought the vehicle was in reverse when she punched the gas pedal. The car was actually in drive, so the SUV lunged forward, crashing into the building.

The three children in the building at the time were airlifted to a hospital, but this was purely as a precaution since they didn’t appear to have any injuries. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department responded to the incident, providing assistance as needed. Then deputies left the scene, workers were already there to work on securing the area and patching the hole in the side of the building.
While, in this instance, no major injuries resulted from the accident, these kinds of incidents can leave children with emotional trauma for years to come, not to mention then extensive property damage.
