California has seen a rash of incidents where car vehicles are shot out by BB guns and similar devices. Police have arrested at least one person in connection with these incidents. That person has pleaded not guilty according to CBS Los Angeles.
The Anaheim man is believed to have used a BB gun to shoot out the windows of a Tesla in Norco and has been charged with attempted murder and other charges. They are also investigating if the same man is the one responsible for other incidents on Riverside Freeway.
The man’s bail has been set at $1 million and a felony settlement conference has been set to happen on June 10. According to the bail enhancement request filed at his arraignment, the suspect has been linked to seven other shootings.

“Shooting at moving vehicles with a BB or pellet gun while traveling at high speed on our roads and freeways is incredibly dangerous,” District Attorney Mike Hestrin said. “Shooting out windows of cars could easily startle drivers in traffic and cause a major accident. We are all relieved that no one was seriously injured by these crimes.”
Since mid-April, roughly 100 other similar attacks have happened in Riverside, Orange, and Los Angeles counties. Thankfully, no one has been injured in the crash. So far, no new incidents have been reported since the arrest of the suspect.
