Star Wars fans often admire the bold, sometimes rebellious nature of Hans Solo, and he is most noted for his prowess in flying. It seems that even offset, Harrison Ford has a penchant for aviation.
After misunderstanding instructions given to him by the air traffic control tower at a Southern California airport, actor Harrison Ford taxied across a runway that was in use by another aircraft.
KSBY News reports that Ford has apologized for the incident that happened at the Hawthorn Municipal Airport on Friday, April 24th, when he taxied his Aviat A-1C Husky across a runway that another aircraft was using for a touch-and-go landing.

Even though Ford has more than 5,000 hours of flight experience, this is not the first time that the iconic Star Wars actor has had incidents while piloting a plane. Airsafe reports that Ford was involved in an incident at John Wayne Airport in Irvine on February 13th, 2017. According to the report, Ford landed on a parallel taxiway, overflying an American Airlines 737 passenger jet that was holding on a parallel runway and cleared for takeoff. In the prior incident., the FAA took no enforcement or administrative action against Ford.
While Ford has acknowledged that he made a mistake and apologized to the air traffic controllers for mishearing the instructions he was given, a spokesperson for Ford told reporters that “no one was injured and there was never any danger of a collision.”
Officials say that the FAA will be investigating the incident.
