KTLA reported on an accident involving a semi-truck and bicyclist that left the cyclist hospitalized for days in an ICU. The Los Angeles Police Department has released photos of the truck to the public they believe is involved in the crash.
The accident happened on March 9 when the truck entered a commercial fueling station. It hit a bicyclist riding on Olympic Boulevard just east of Boyle Avenue. The driver stopped for a bit, but did not render aid or identify himself.
The bicyclist was left there with multiple fractures and internal injuries. First responders managed to reach the cyclist and took him to the hospital. He has been released since then and is “slowly recovering” according to the LAPD.
The truck is believed to be a 2015 Freightliner Columbia 120. The driver is a man in his 30s, possibly Hispanic according to the report. If you have information on the accident, please contact the LAPD at the numbers in the news link above.

Hit and run drivers put themselves in significant criminal and civil danger. Furthermore, since this was a commercial truck, the driver faces the possibility of losing his job. We hope that the cyclist recovers completely and can seek civil justice from the driver’s employer once the driver is found.
