The accident happened at Brookhurst Street and Orange Avenue around 2:50 a.m. Police found an abandoned Mercedes-Benz sedan and a black Kia with the three deceased men inside. Witnesses saw two women leave the abandoned vehicle and enter a different one. Police caught up to those women in the hospital. One of them was seriously hurt and needed surgery.
Police say that the Kia was exiting a parking lot when it was struck by the Mercedes. It caught fire, but an officer was able to put it out. They are focusing their investigation now on who picked up the women and what relationship they might have had with them.
No arrests have been made so far and the case is still under investigation. Police are seeking witnesses in the crash to determine if it was a hit and run accident or not before they pursue charges.
Our condolences go out the families of the slain men, and we hope that the injured women recover fully. We also hope the police can track down the mysterious driver so they can figure out who was at fault for this crash.
