Today we have a very tragic story of a father killed in a crash by an alleged street racer. He was going out to buy diapers for his infant daughter. KTLA reports.
The accident happened in South Gate over the weekend. The father left his home in Cudahy to go buy diapers for his five-month-old daughter according to his fiancee. He never made it back home after a car crashed into him at Firestone Boulevard and Alameda Street. Both drivers died at the scene.

Witnesses told police that they believed one of the vehicles was part of a street race, but police are still investigating that claim. The fiancee claims that police since told her that two cars, a BMW and a Charger were racing at the time of the crash. The Charger lost control and hit the father’s vehicle. The BMW fled the scene.
The family is seeking justice in the case for the father and for his surviving child. They have set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for the funeral. The link can be found on the news page.
We hope that the driver that fled is brought to justice and that the family can find an avenue to seek compensation after this horrible accident. Our hearts go out to the young child and the rest of the family.
