Reader discretion is advised for this next story. The Los Angeles Times states a man in San Jose crashed his pickup truck into a bar, killing a woman and injuring two others. Court documents say he was having sex at the time of the crash, along with driving DUI.
The suspect was told to leave the Agave Sports Bar & Grill due to intoxication. Witnesses saw him and a young woman get into his work pickup truck.
The truck backed up and got up to 45 mph in the parking lot before ramming through the outdoor section of the restaurant. Three people were struck.
The woman in the group died at the hospital. The two men in the group will survive but suffered serious leg injuries.
The young woman told the police she was performing a sex act on the suspect at the time of the crash and didn’t realize the truck was moving.
We hope it’s obvious to say that performing sex acts in a moving vehicle is a terribly dangerous idea, not to mention doing it while intoxicated. Our condolences go out to the victims and we hope the survivors can claim a hefty settlement.
The bar is lucky that they didn’t serve him alcohol, as they could have been caught by dram shop laws. These laws hold irresponsible bars to account for serving someone too much alcohol and leaving the premises in a vehicle.
