A story that has reached national attention talks about a hero who risked his life to save the life of an infant after a crash in Ocean City, Maryland. NBC Los Angeles talked about the act of bravery.
According to the fire department, a car had crashed on the Route 90 Bridge in Ocean City, Maryland. The bridge crosses Assawoman Bay. When they arrived, one of the vehicles in the crash was half-over the guard rail.
Seven other people were injured in the crash, in what the Ocean City Fire Department called a “mass casualty incident.” The road was closed in both directions.

When the crash happened, a bystander saw a baby fly out of the car hanging off the guardrail. The baby fell in the bay, and soon the bystander followed, diving off the bridge to save the child. The baby was rescued from the bay and is now undergoing treatment at John Hopkins Children’s Hospital.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash. No further updates have been found about the condition of the injured individuals.
